St Catherine's Wins Outdoor classroom!

St Catherine's has won a national competition to celebrate the "International Year of Biodiversity 2010."

Click to enlarge the outdoor classroom picture The school's prize is an outdoor classroom which will be provided by Conservation Services Ireland and is due to arrive at the end of February.

The school opens at 9.00am. Infants finish at 1.40pm and all other classes finish at 2.40pm.

We are situated in Rush, North Co. Dublin, close to the sea side in a rich local environment. In the locality we have an ancient volcano, promontory fort, a Martello tower,  the remains of Kenure House, on which site the school is located, a history of Roman traders, Viking raiders, fishing and market gardening as well as off shore islands with Celtic chapels, a lighthouse and shipwrecks.
