Welcome to St Catherine’s NS Rush website.
St Catherine’s is a mixed Catholic primary school which caters for children from junior infants to 6th class. We also work with primary school children who have been diagnosed with autism and currently have two ASD classes in our school.
St Catherine’s is a school with children from Ireland and from over thirty other countries from as far apart as Brazil and China. We are very proud of our multi-cultural environment and see it as a huge asset to be able to share aspects of so many different cultures with each other. Ar scath a cheile a mhaireann na daoine.
St Catherine’s has a very dedicated and committed team of talented teachers, SNAs and ancillary staff who work together to ensure that each child in our care achieves their potential. We believe that there is genius in every child and that our job is to provide the child with as many opportunities as possible to discover where their genius lies.
We work hard on Literacy and Numeracy and also recognise the enormous importance of the Arts, sports and other aspects of the curriculum. We place a particular emphasis on creativity and the arts and understand how vitally important these are in the world today and, of course, fro the future.
We also know that to achieve we must involve and engage parents in their children’s learning and the life of the school. We encourage all parents to visit the school regularly, to volunteer to work in classes with us and, importantly, to get involved with the school’s Parent Association. Working together all things become possible.
We are lucky to be situated in an exceptional environment with beautiful school grounds and nearby playgrounds and other amenities.
